Attractions Introduction:

East Point Lighthouse
The East Point Lighthouse is located at the easternmost tip of Prince Edward Island, near the village of Elmira.

As one of PEI's iconic lighthouses, it was built in 1867 and remains operational today, guiding ships navigating the confluence of the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Atlantic Ocean. This red-and-white striped lighthouse is not only a witness to maritime history but also one of the island's most popular scenic spots.

Climb to the top of the lighthouse for a 360-degree panoramic view of the stunning coastline, where the turbulent waves of the Atlantic meet the calm waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence in a striking contrast.

Due to its unique geographical location, visitors can observe two distinct shades of seawater merging, creating a remarkable natural phenomenon.

Inside the lighthouse, a small exhibit shares its 150-year history, along with tales of famous shipwrecks and the lives of its keepers.

Surrounding the lighthouse are weathered red sandstone cliffs. At low tide, explore tidal pools teeming with marine life or stroll along coastal trails, feeling the ocean breeze and crashing waves.

Red Point Provincial Park
Red Point Provincial Park is renowned for its striking red sandstone cliffs, golden beaches, and serene coastal scenery, making it one of the most beloved outdoor destinations in eastern PEI. The park's name comes from its iconic rust-colored shoreline, which glows brilliantly under the sun.

Walk along the soft sandy beaches and admire the dramatic red cliffs shaped by ocean erosion, experiencing the grandeur of the Atlantic and the island's unique geology.

The park features short hiking trails winding through coastal forests, where seabirds like gulls and loons thrive in spring and summer—perfect for nature enthusiasts.

Basin Head Provincial Park
Basin Head Provincial Park boasts PEI's most famous white-sand beach, split by a crystal-clear channel with calm, shallow waters ideal for swimming, snorkeling, or family-friendly water play.

The beach is nicknamed the "Singing Sands" due to its high silica content—when stepped on, the sand produces a musical squeaking sound. The park also houses a Fisheries Museum for visitors to explore.
